I am thrilled to welcome you back to the 2020-2021 year at Hardin High School. I am excited to get back into the school routine. The HHS staff and I are going to work every day to ensure that your students grow socially and academically each day. I believe every student can have success and it starts with one positive experience and grows into many more throughout the school year.
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. I want to remind both parents/guardians and students that the 2020-21 school year will begin with a Freshman only orientation day on Wednesday, August 26. All students will report to school Thursday, August 27. Lifetouch will be here on the 27th to take school pictures. All students are encouraged to come even if they are doing the on-line learning option.
There are numerous announcements, but I will try not to ramble. If we have not contacted you to ask if your student would like to learn face-to-face or on-line, please call 665-9301 to let us know which option will be chosen. Each student working on-line will check out a laptop to be used for school work. The laptops will be checked out for on-line only students on 8/26 for freshman and 8/28 for all other students. Please note the check out times for each class: Sophomores are 8:30-10:30, Juniors 10:30-12:30 and seniors 1:30-3:30. The high school expects every student to attend class EVERY day either face-to-face or via zoom or other on-line avenue. If the internet is an issue the district will provide some access using hot-spot technologies on school busses. Those locations will be made public when plans have been finalized.
The School board and Governor have made some decisions for the safety of our students. First, masks must be worn in the buildings until further notice and HHS will have a closed campus for the 1st quarter. Parents and guardians, we implore you to keep students social distanced and masked when students are not in school. For more information please visit the web-site below or contact me directly. On-line registration is available for your students on the school website listed here.
Once again, I am looking forward to a great start this year and plan on seeing Hardin High School students growing each day socially and academically. I appreciate your ideas, concerns and questions. The way to contact me is by calling the school at 665-9300 or my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
