Letter from the Principal, Mike Flamm
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!
We will have New Student Orientation (all 6th graders and any new students to HMS) on Wednesday, August 23rd beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium. During this time, we will briefly discuss how we conduct business at HMS, hand out student schedules, encourage you to visit the classrooms and try out your locker combination! We look forward to seeing you all and introducing you to the exciting activities we have planned for this coming school year!
To the Parents/Guardians of ALL 7TH AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS:
We are continuing with our credit system for seventh and eighth grade students to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of the content and skills needed to be successful at the next grade level. On Wednesday, August 23rd beginning at 5:30 p,m. in the auditorium, we outline the details of these changes and how it may affect your child as we move through the school year. Our goal is to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment to the academic learning process. Please plan to attend.
ALL BUS STUDENTS:
Bus registration forms for the 2023-24 school year must be completed and returned to the enrolled school by the first Monday of school. Students that were on a bus the previous school year will be allowed to ride on Thursday and Friday of the first week of school. This is a hard copy form that will be sent home on the first day of school. A separate form for each student in the household is required. These forms can be found at any of the Hardin schools. Students will NOT be allowed to ride a bus after Friday of the first week of school unless the registration form is on file with the school. These forms must be updated at the beginning of each school year.
Some positive points to mention:
ALL RETURNING students (any student who was enrolled in Hardin School District on the last day of school): Parents, you can update your student’s information by using the Infinite Campus Portal (Campus Parent). Login and click on the top left corner (the pancake stack) and choose MORE. Then choose ONLINE REGISTRATION and select the option for Existing Students. This is a quick and easy/secure way to update your information for enrollment for the 2023-24 school year. If you have not set up a portal account, please contact the Middle School office at 406.665.6302.
There is also an APP that Infinite Campus offers as well on the APP Store. You can login to the Campus Parent app and easily view your students grades, attendance, and more! If you have multiple students in different schools, only one login is needed! If you have any questions about how to download or access this application, please contact us at 406.665.6302.
Our updated school supply list can be found on the school district website. Ultimately we encourage your student to come to school with notebooks and pencils the first day of school. Teachers will provide more detailed information about any other specific supplies that may be needed.
HMS Fall Sports Start Dates: (a sports physical, concussion and medical forms must be complete PRIOR to starting practice) - We will be offering sports physicals for the students free through One Health at the middle school on Aug. 22nd and 24th. A parent must be present with the student. These will be in the gym from 8:00-4:00

New Staff!
Welcome to Hardin Middle School!!
Jessie DeLeon: Greetings! I am genuinely excited for what's in store for us this school year. I am Mr. Jessie De Leon, 6th Grade Adviser, Reading Mastery and English Language Arts teacher. I have been teaching English classes since 2011. Throughout my career, I have primarily taught K-12 students in the Philippines, Thailand, and now in the State of Montana. The biggest room ever built is the room for improvement so there's a lot to learn, relearn, and even unlearn to become better individuals. Let's journey and work together to achieve our goal: be better than who we were yesterday - academically, physically, mentally, emotionally, and in all facets of our lives. May this year be one of the best ones where opportunities knock on our doors therefore be prepared, be engaged, and be yourself version 2.0! See you around.
