Crow Words of the Week
"Bulúxchilattache",
means
"ice is breaking up"
This word is also used to reference the month of March, marking the transition from winter to spring.
Just as the ice breaks to make way for new beginnings, may this word remind us of growth, renewal, and the strength of our language and culture. Thank you for being part of this journey in keeping the Crow language alive! Ahóoh

A few weeks ago, we focused on the Crow translations of the Portrait of a Graduate Competencies, emphasizing the importance of language in shaping our shared vision. I’m excited to share that Mrs. Dounia Means, a dedicated teacher at Crow Agency School, took the initiative to create a slideshow featuring the words and their translations. Mrs. Means thoughtfully included audio files, making it more accessible for everyone to engage with the language. The slideshow, along with the sound files, is available for anyone to view at the link below:
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Dounia Means for her time, effort, and dedication to preserving and sharing the Crow translations of the Portrait of a Graduate Competencies in such a meaningful way. Please feel free to explore and share this resource. Ahóoh
